Jim McCabe's front 9 musings . . .

1 – Keep in mind . . .

If Xander Schauffele wins the Masters (and he’s been top 10 in four of his seven appearances), he’ll have three majors to Scottie Scheffler’s two.

2 – And there’s this, too . . .

Oh, and should he win Augusta, Xander would be three-quarters of the way to the career Grand Slam, needing just the U.S. Open (where he’s been top 10 in seven of eight starts.

3 – The answer is a resounding yes

Onward to more compelling golf topics, doesn’t foliage lose its flavor once it has reached the ground?

4 – Debate time

Can you play “winter rules” in autumn?

5 – Try it

Halloween season is upon us and the weather is cooperating big time. How ‘bout dressing up as a golfer who putts everything into the hole?

6 – Seems only fair

Given the time of year, twilight rates should start at noon. Says me.

7 – Shot-making geniuses

Vintage Seve vs. vintage Trevino. That’s it for me. You can have everybody else.

8 – It's all in the mind game

A putting drill I'm working on: Imagine every putt being for triple-bogey. I mean, we never miss putts for triple-bogey, right?

9 – Who asks to go for ride on the frog boat?

Shouldn't the logo for the Boston Common Golf team in the upcoming TGL be a nice swan boat and not some silly frog? Everyone loves a swan boat.
